It was about 8:15pm when I decided to go out into my backyard to do some stargazing. When I was looking west, I saw a military jet coming in fast from Tempe. The first two thoughts going through my mind at the time were

1) why is this jet flying so low and
2) what is it doing so far from Luke Air Force Base (located in Phoenix near where I live).

As I watched the jet, I see a series of white flashes coming from behind it and in the distance, another series of flashes start to follow. Every time one of these objects would flash, the other would do the same. Anyway, one of these objects starts following the jet doing the repeated flashing. The jet makes a u-turn in front of my home and the object that was following it curves up and shoots into the sky, disappearing. The other object disappears as well and the jet started to head northwest back to the Air Force base.
