Thunderbird or Mass Hysteria

A few months back, in an article that mentioned mass hysteria in "Fortean Times", a subject was brought up that really intrigues me. It was about a picture of a captured "Thunderbird". The article (in an issue # that I don't recall-sorry) told of many people reporting seeing a photo of a captured thunderbird being nailed to the wall of a barn. The thing is, no one can prove that this photo actually exists, nor that ANYONE has actually seen it. My dilemma comes from the fact I know that I saw this very photo several years ago, but can't remember where. I have a very clear image of it in my head, because I remember thinking that it was the coolest thing that I'd seen in a while , and would take the time to read about it later, but never saw it again . . .

Here comes the question, "Does anyone know if this pic actually exists, or am I just suffering from the cited 'mass hysteria' in the article?" If anyone can describe the same photo to me (I'll keep the description to myself for the time being), or better yet, find it for me to prove that I'm not losing my mind, I'd greatly appreciate it. I may post an update soon as to the article and issue # where the reference can be found, but I've many magazines to sort through before I find it again. And, NO, the "Fortean Times" website did not list anything under the numerous variations of, "Thunderbird" that I searched for.

Thank you all for any help any of you can provide in this matter.

yeah yeah i saw that pic too! I cant remember where either, it was probably around the time i saw the pic where the thunderbird had been shot by civil war soldiers. But yeah i remember. I have disproved many photos of the thunderbird as being pelican carcasses that people plucked the feathers off the wings and head and then used the legs tying them together to form a tail.
