Well, my mom died on May 10, 2007. I couldn't sleep the first couple of nights after she died, so on the morning of Mother's Day at about 2 AM I started writting her a good bye letter. I finished the letter and wanted to read over it to make sure it said everything it needed to say. While I was reading over it I felt this cold feeling deep inside me, almost like a electric shock and felt my stomach drop. At the same time I heard something say "hello?" This only lasted for a second. I jumped up and woke my dad and my boyfriend to tell them what just happened, but they both just thought my mind was playing games with me from stress.

I know what I felt. After I calmed down, I wrote at the end of her letter, "don't do that again, it really scared me." Nothing like that has happened since, I do think she is around my son sometimes though. I have heard that spirits can't contact humans up until a couple of years after they die....I don't believe that. I think that she was letting me know she saw the letter and that she was alright.

Whatever it was, it gave me some peace.
