There Was and ice storm in our area and our electric went out so my daughter, husband and I went to my husbands grandfathers. We took our showers and ate. Everything was gong as it normally would.
My husband and I slept on the floor in the living room. He had fallen asleep and i was awakened by a shuffling sound. It would go away and I'd fall back asleep. Around the fourth time I heard it; I laid there awake trying to figure out what this strange noise was. It was about 15 minutes later that i saw a frail old woman in a night gown and fuzzy purple house shoes. She walked over to my husband and looked at him with a smile, then made her way over to the other side of the room where our daughter was sleeping. I was horrified at this point, but I waited, seeing what she would do. She softly ran her hand over my sleeping newborn's cheek and smiled. She then bent over and kissed her on the forehead. Then she went towards the hallway fading before she made it out of the room.
I didnt hear anymore shuffling. In the next few days I finally told my husband and he told me that his grandmother who had passed 2 years before we met had gotten extremely sick and when she was at home she would walk around in her fuzzy purple slippers. I hadnt even mentioned the house shoes. At that point i knew it was just her way of saying goodbye to him and saying hello to her great grand daughter.
