If I remember correctly the first experience I had with my ouija board was in 1985. In my parents basement they have a spot where they keep games and such and that's where my ouija board was at. I never used it alone. But this one time it was put away with all the games and I was downstairs practicing on the piano when I heard this deep male voice telling me to GET OUT!!!! LOL needless to say I hesitated all of 5 seconds and RAN up those stairs. To this day (as funny as it sounds) I have been afraid to be in my parents basement. I have to have someone in the house when I am in their basement. Yes I got rid of the ouija board. I threw it out actually. Only because I'd heard from another friend of mine that she couldn't burn her sisters ouija board. But I did read an article one time that if you want to get rid of the ouija board to cut it up into 7 pieces and bury it outside at the base of a tree. LOL only what I read. Never acted on it. I only got rid of the ouija board in 1999/2000. But I never used it again.
