Every night for the past week or so, something wakes me up around 4 o-clock every morning. It's a habit of mine to always check the clock first thing in case I'm running late for school.
The first night, I didn't think anything of waking up that early and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, other than the fact that for a teenager 3:59 is unheard of, I just rolled over and went back to sleep. The second night, I woke up at 4:03. Despite being almost completely still and silent outside (no wind and no rain) the attic door was rattling. I've lived in this house for 4 years, and the only time that door has rattled like that was during storms. However, unlike when it rattled during the storms, it sounded almost as if someone was pounding on it. I was unnerved, but I got up, made sure the door was locked and laid back down. After a few moments, the rattling stopped and I fell back to sleep. The third night I was sleeping downstairs since one of my friends was over and I insisted she take my bed (thinking nothing of the past two nights). It was another still night but at 4:10, my friend came running down the steps, saying the attic door had flung open. I went up to check and sure enough the door was wide open, still swinging back and forth on the rusty hinges. I shut the door, locked it, and took my friend back downstairs, telling her that the air conditioner probably kicked on a little too powerfully for the old door to handle. I know that I had locked the door before I had even let my friend in the house.
The fourth night was like the first. I woke up at 4:11 but there was nothing to wake me and I fell right back asleep. The most recent night, I woke at 4:19 to the sound of something sliding down my wall and hitting and skidding across my wooden floor rather loudly. I sat up immediately and flipped on the light, looking at all of the walls. My calender had somehow fallen off its hook. That in itself didn't cause me to panic. The fact that it was on the other side of the room from where I had hung it, however, did. The nail that had held it up had been torn out of the wall and had fallen in the palm of my hand.
I slept downstairs for the rest of that night
I'd recommend posting a camera or if you have a computer with a webcam in the room, to record your night's sleep and see if anything strange happens.
